The Board will now review the grants and consider budgets to decide which grants will be offered going forwards, and what their criteria and value will be. We anticipate that the next round of grants will begin on 1^st May 2026.

Dr Bike will also accept donations of bikes or bike parts. These go back to Recyke-a-Bike, and with a bit of mechanical magic, are refurbished (where possible) and sold to raise funds for the organisation.

The FDT recycling bins are located at the back of the car park of the Sports Club. We have three bins for different types of waste:

• Medicine Blister Packs

• Pens and Markers

• Holiday Decorations and Party Supplies

Please note that the Gardening Items bin has now closed – it was very full and so the contents have been collected for recycling. Over the winter months we will instead offer a recycling bin for holiday decorations and party supplies.

Please check the guides to learn what you can and can’t recycle and only use the terracycle bins for the allowed items. Throwing in items that we can’t accept, including plastic bags full of approved items, will lead to us having to close the project. Thank you.

The grant was originally set up in response to the fuel and cost of living crisis, and is a departure from the main aims of the Trust. As the government will once again provide support to certain households, FDT will re-focus efforts on sustainability, energy efficiency and green energy. We are working closely with Energy Action Scotland to ensure that the households in Fintry who have received the Fuel Payment Grant, gain access to all the relevant help and support offered in Scotland to tackle fuel poverty. We will continue in our efforts to assist Fintry homeowners to make their homes as energy efficient as possible to further reduce fuel bills.

For this, last round, of the Fuel Payment Grant, ALL previous applicants must RE-APPLY.

ALL application forms must be printed and posted into the FDT mailbox in the foyer of the Sports Club.

The event was a great success with lots of Fintry residents coming along to speak to Changeworks for free, impartial advice and support.

The FDT stand was also busy – handing out grant application forms, hot drink tokens, membership forms AND signing people up for the free prize draw! We’re delighted to say that three lucky Fintry residents are now feeling much warmer thanks to their prizes:

1st Prize: 18 tog hypoallergenic, double-decker duvet

2nd Prize: A heated electric throw

3rd Prize: Rechargable hand-warmers

We have once again been delighted with the response – a fantastic 61 households have taken up the offer of free fruit bushes! As a result, there are now 168 aditional fruit bushes planted in Fintry, helping to increase the village’s biodiversity and sustainability.

FDT can offer a reimbursement of £40 PER BAG on the purchase of up to TWO BULK BAGS of logs per household. The two bags can be purchased separately, or together, over the winter months.

This discount will be available throughout the winter with the last date logs can be purchased being 31 March 2026.
