Help with Energy Costs

FDT have been working with Energy Action Scotland to provide grants of up to £500 to any householder in the Fintry area who is spending a significant portion of their income on fuel bills and is in fuel poverty or expects to be in fuel poverty.

These grants are now available and application forms for the grant are available in the Sports Club or can be downloaded here.

How It Works

After completing the grant application, you should leave the form in the post box marked FP GRANTS below the FDT post box in the foyer of the Sports Club to be collected.

Your application will be reviewed and assessed by Energy Action Scotland.

If your application is successful EAS will make the payments directly to your energy provider.

Energy Action Scotland may need to contact you to ask for more information about your situation so it’s important you provide contact information on the form.

FDT is operating this scheme at arm’s length so no part of your application or any of the information it contains will be seen by anyone who lives in Fintry, works for FDT or is a director of FDT.

Energy Action Scotland

FDT is working with Energy Action Scotland (EAS) because they have experience in operating grant schemes of this type. EAS campaigns for an end to fuel poverty in Scotland and is the only national charity with this sole remit.

More information about EAS is available here – https://www.eas.org.uk/

Funding

The funding for these grants comes entirely from income FDT has received in the past year from our share in Earlsburn windfarm.

We know that this winter is already hard for many people and will only get worse, we therefore encourage anybody who needs help or thinks they might need help to apply. We have assigned a significant amount of money to this scheme so everyone who lives in the Fintry area and is eligible should receive a grant.

Please let friends and neighbours know about the grants if they don’t already.
